Styling for a Spring Shoot: 3 Looks I love
The weather was gorgeous, the company was incredible and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
I met up with Andrew Parsons and Wiley Putnam in Seattle for a fun, self-styled shoot at the gorgeous University of Washington Campus. Little did I know it would soon turn into one of the most fun days I'd had in a long time and my favorite shoot to date.
STYLE TIP 1: Bell bottoms and off the shoulder tops rule the world. There is truly nothing better than this adorable mashup and I don't think the trend is going anywhere any time soon. These bell bottoms were a random Pacsun find and the off the shoulder top is from Ross! You can find similar styles everywhere, from Amazon to Nordstrom, Target to TJ Maxx. When it comes to style, it all depends on your price point, patience (for online shopping orders to come in!) and attention to quality.
STYLE TIP 2: Pairing a soft, light, floral blouse with a baby pink ribbon choker and an a-line, button up denim skirt proved to be the perfect updated vintage look I was going for! You can switch up this look with a plain linen button up blouse, dark or light wash denim skirt and your favorite necklace. I recommend checking out sales on Gap right now for some beautiful Spring wear, specifically blouses and denim tops!
STYLE TIP 3: This dreamy Kimchi Blue dress made the shoot. It was a gorgeous sunny day out, complete with hundreds of people watching us shoot, enjoying the incredible weather and hanging around the campus. Out of nowhere, towards the end of our shoot, it started to pour freezing rain and instead of running for cover, we danced in it! A flowy, soft, floral dress is the perfect match for a Spring picnic or night out. Pair with chunky sandals or camel colored booties. Amazon and ASOS both have beautiful options for flowy, spring dresses at an affordable price!
Whether you're buying for a photoshoot or just simply to update your wardrobe for Spring, keep in mind how fleeting trends can be! Be sure to really love the pieces you're buying or decide if they will be "one season" wears. Never be afraid of a little print and color, especially since nature is absolutely colorful and gorgeous this time of year.
I hope you enjoyed this quick styling for Spring session! What are your favorite looks for Spring?
